Comedian Bearwin Meily revealed he had to sell his dream house due to the lack of money he needed to survive.

In an interview with radio commentator and entertainment reporter Ogie Diaz, Bearwin talked about the corn dog business he recently put up in Taytay, Rizal.

But what was supposed to be a feel-good story about his newfound success in the food business turned into an emotional one after he shared what he had gone through after his showbiz career slowly went downhill.

According to Bearwin, he went through a tough time even before the pandemic began.

Bearwin, who was last seen in the situational comedy show Home Sweetie Home, said it was his last TV appearance ever.

“Bago pa man mag-pandemic, tinamaan na ko. Bago pa naman mag-pandemic, hindi na ko nabibigyan ng chance sa TV. Huli natin yung Home Sweetie Home,” he said.

He also tried his luck in politics by running as a councilor, but lost in the 2019 elections.

“Tumakbo akong konsehal dito sa Taytay. Hindi rin naman pinalad. So, at first, maghahagilap ka. Pero kapag wala ka nang aasahan dito, walang industriya, walang trabaho, hindi ka nanalo, so wala kang ibang kakapitan kung 'di ang Diyos,” he said.

Turning emotional, Bearwin said he had to give up his house due to a lack of money.

“You surrender in a sense na kahit hindi mo matanggap na ibenta mo 'yong bahay mo, ibebenta mo, e. Binenta namin 'yong bahay namin. One thing, wala kaming pambayad. Kesa maremata ng banko, binenta ko,” he said.

Now renting his own place, Bearwin found a silver lining in finding a smaller place to call his home.

“Kumbaga, dati stressed na stressed ka, ngayon when you surrender everything sa Diyos, tanggap mo ‘yong sitwasyon na hindi ka na ngarag, naghahabol sa bayarin mo kasi wala ka nang malaking babayaran kasi nangungupahan ka na lang. Not like 'yung bahay na malaki. Naka-loan 'yon eh. Malaki talagang halaga,” he said.

Meanwhile, Bearwin thanked his friend and fellow comedian Bayani Agbayani for helping him get through his struggles.

“Si Bayani kahit kailan hindi ako hinindian. Hindi ko hiningan ng pera 'yan. 'Di rin naman nagbigay ng pera 'yan pero every time I ask Bayani, patulong naman ako. Kaagad 'yan. Walang sabi-sabi,” he said.
