Francine Diaz wants to bring more awareness on body shaming: ‘Hindi tama ang mang-body shame’

As one of the lead stars of the new four-part digital anthology series Click, Like, Share, Francine Diaz said she cannot really relate to her role as a self-absorbed teenager in the episode Cancelledt. Hindi ko kagaya yung character ko dito si Karen sa Cancelledt. Never ko kasing ginawa na meron akong finake na picture ko. Kasi yung character ko lahat ini-edit niya para lang masabing ganito siyang tao. Gusto niya parati siyang nasa top and lahat gagawin niya para hindi siya bumaba. Ako naman kasi hindi ako ganun. Wala naman ako na-experience na kaparehas ng character ko. With her latest project shedding light on experiences on the positive and negative sides of social media, Francine said she also follows a lot of influencers online but does not have one specific idol.“Ang dami, halos hindi ko na rin mapangalanan yung mga accounts na fina-follow ko na na-i-inspire nila ako. Siguro yung mga pino-post nila at shini-share nila sa account nila na nakakapag-inspire sa akin, yun yung mga account na fina-follow ko na shini-share nila na maging confident ka sa sarili mo, and yung mas tanggapin mo yung flaws mo physically or emotionally man yan. And yung mas piliin mo na maging better ka everyday and yung mahalin mo ng mabuti yung sarili mo, hindi lang yung pagmamahal na kailangan parati kang maganda sa tingin ng tao, kumbaga yung maganda ka rin sa sarili mo sa loob mo. Kasi meron akong mga nakikita na confident naman sila sa katawan nila, sa sarili nila, pero yung comment naman ng mga tao hindi tama. Gusto ko magpakita o magbigay ng awareness lalo na sa mga haters. Hindi tama ang mang-body shame.
