<p>“Absolutely.”</p><p>This was Karen Davila’s response when asked if she was ever offered money as a bribe in her 27-year career as a broadcast journalist. </p><p>In an interview with showbiz Sa radyo. Kasi sa radyo, hindi mo alam ang komentaryo eh. Napakadali,” she said. </p><p>But Karen said she has never accepted any amount of money because she didn’t want to taint her profession. </p><p>“Ito po ang masasabi ko sa inyo na talagang with a straight face is all the times na I have been offered, I have never taken a single centavo in my life. the public because of her integrity. </p><p>“Hindi din naman ako Ogie magiging ganito o rerespetuhin ng ganito kung kakalat rin eh. Na ‘ay tumatanggap ‘yan’. Kakalat ‘yun. Alam niyo, maliit ang Pilipinas, maliit ang news. Malalaman nila. Nako, tumitira ‘yan pero tumatanggap ‘yan. No one can say ‘Wow bayaran ‘yan’ and you know, I’m being accused of that. That hurts me because it hurts me when you’ve made such an effort na hindi gawin ‘yun tapos ‘yun pa ang ititira sa’yo,” she said. </p><p>“But what’s important is, well, the Lord knows, but my bosses know. Sabi, ‘Name your price kada-buwan’ and I said, ‘What?’ and then nagbanggit ng iba pa pang mga anchors like ‘Si ganito, ganito presyo niya, si ganu’n ito presyo niya’. Dinala pa ako sa restaurant nu’n. But sabi, ‘Karen, no one will ever know’ and I said, ‘But, I will know’ and I said, ‘It’s not true that no one ever knows, people will always know,’” she added. </p>

Karen Davila admits she has received offers in the past to cover up stories she was reporting on.
