Sitti Navarro-Ramirez took to social media her story and insights from her cancer-scare.

In her recent blog post, the Bossa nova singer opened up about the struggles she braved through during the first half of the year. When she was able to confirm her second pregnancy, she immediately went to see her OB-GYN, Dra. Eileen Manalo. However, after conducting a trans-vaginal ultrasound, they discovered a 4-inch ovarian cyst (at that time).

This startled the expectant mother as her ovaries were confirmed to be okay ten months prior. She questioned how a cyst so big could have formed so fast. After two weeks, the Philippine Queen of Bossa nova braved through the anxiety she felt and went for another checkup.

That was when Dr. Manalo declared that “the cyst didn’t look like a normal, harmless one”. The checkup concluded with the doctor declaring that the cyst could be indicative of early stage cancer.

In her blog, Sitti elaborated about her second pregnancy journey and how it frightened her as the fear of cancer was still fresh in her mind, due to the fact that her mom died of bile duct cancer last year. Despite the overwhelming challenge that came her way, the singer remained faithful to the Lord.

Sitto wrote, “I left the clinic with emotions roiling inside me, spirit deflated because things didn’t turn out the way I imagined them to be. It was the first lesson God taught me through this experience - that He, not I, is STILL the Lord and Master of my life. That no matter how carefully/healthily I may live, no matter how enthusiastically I may plan things, His Will would always prevail.

"And this was His Will for me on my second pregnancy: to nurture a life alongside an abnormal growth.”

To everyone’s relief, the renowned singer shared, “Everything’s fine now, I am fine now - both me and baby are. I can talk about it more openly now too, although I sometimes resort to a few tears when I recall what we went through. It wasn’t easy, but the hand of the Lord delivered us from the worse when I had open surgery more than two months ago and the 10 cm cyst was found to be benign. I was 13 weeks pregnant then. Needless to say, this wasn’t exactly how I thought my second pregnancy would go.”

Sitti made a debut after releasing her first album, Café Bossa, back in 2006 and her success led her to become part of the A.S.A.P. Sessionistas on ASAP.

She is married to Joey Ramirez with whom she has one child with another one on the way.
