Actor Aga Muhlach and his wife, host Charlene Gonzalez, revealed that they tested positive for COVID-19, but are now "making their path towards recovery."

The couple contracted the virus while in the US with their son Andres for the holidays, Charlene said in her post on Instagram on Wednesday, January 12.

"Aga and I tested positive for COVID-19 while in the USA. Thank God we are all fully vaccinated. Andres was with us during the holidays (he is fully vaccinated) and he isolated right away," she said.

Charlene said her son tested negative for COVID-19 and was cleared by the doctor to leave for Spain to continue his studies.

As for her and Aga, she said she started showing signs of COVID-19—including nausea and fatigue—in late December, while her husband began getting symptoms in early January.

"My symptoms started on Dec 30 & 31. After taking initial over the counter medicine, I felt ok for the next couple days but had continuous nausea and fatigue. I was testing negative during this time but isolated right away the moment I felt symptoms," she said.

"On Jan 4-5, I felt sick again and this is when Aga started to get symptoms. We tested again and this time our tests came out positive. From then on, it was an up and down feeling of being sick and monitoring. One day you're ok, one day you're not."

"But we are so happy that we are making our path towards recovery," she added.

The former beauty queen went on to thank those who helped her and her husband during their battle with the coronavirus, including their doctors, family, and friends.

"We will be back home as soon as we are cleared, recovered and COVID-free," she said. "Sa lahat ng mga kababayans natin, I pray for everyone’s safety and speedy recovery for all that may be going through the same experience. Praying for complete healing."

Meanwhile, Aga said he has nothing but gratitude to the group of Filipino healthcare workers who took care of him and his wife as they fought COVID-19.

"It’s on and off, this Covid battle," he added. "Ingat tayong lahat."

Aga and Charlene join the growing list of celebrities who have revealed in recent days getting infected with COVID-19. Others were Pia Wurtzbach, Iya Villania, Shaina Magdayao, Sofia Andres, RK Bagatsing, and Jane Oineza.

The Philippines on January 12 recorded 32,246 additional COVID-19 cases, bringing the overall tally to 3,058,634.
