'Squid Game' stars Lee Jung-jae and Jung ho-yeon win big at 2022 SAG Awards

Squid Game stars Lee Jung-jae and Jung Ho-yeon bagged the Most Outstanding Performance by a male and female lead in a drama series awards respectively at the recently concluded Screen Actors Guild Awards.

"Thank you so, so much SAG Awards. And thank you to the global audience for all your love for Squid Game. And thank you Squid Game team," Jung-jae said in his speech after receiving his trophy.

Meanwhile, Ho-yeon could not help but be emotional after winning the award for her performance in her very first acting project.

"First and foremost, thank you so much. I have sat many of times watching you on the big screen dreaming of one day becoming an actor. I just want to say thank you so much. Thank you... made me dream and open the door for me. And I love you my Squid Game crew!" she said.

The Squid Game show also won the Outstanding Action Performance by a Stunt Ensemble in a Television Series award.

The hit Netflix series is the first Korean series to win SAG Awards.

Squid Game premiered on September 17, 2021. The series follows the story of a group of people who join a survival game to win billions.
