BINI member Mikha Lim replaces Melizza Jimenez in ‘He’s Into Her Season 2’: ‘She’s one of those rare finds’

<p>As the release date of <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/hesintoher"><strong><u><em>He’s Into Her</em></u></strong></a>’s second season draws near, head writer Vanessa Valdez admitted it was still a challenge for them to shoot the teen-oriented series despite the relaxation of safety protocols this year.</p><p>“Actually, hindi pa rin naman ganun ka-open when we started shooting talaga. Kelan lang naman tayo naging alert level 1. When we started shooting, hindi pa level 1 so we really had to be creative in terms of the kinds of scenes that we can create for the show. But the intention really was to make it a more mature story. Kung sa una kasi it was more like a fantasy that was more kilig. At this point in the story nag-step [up] na yun. This is now the real love story. This is the meat of the story. This is where we get to test our characters. Yung mga scenes na na-create namin are all to test ano ba yung kaya ng characters namin, ano yung mga prinsipyo nila, ano yung kaya nilang panindigan, ano yung kaya nilang patawarin. Hindi lang sa mga taong mahal nila kundi pati sa sarili nila. So, we crafted scenes thinking of that. Especially when it comes to the lead role of Max played by Belle Soriano.</p><p>“What I like about Max’s character is that she’s very self-possessed. And that’s what allowed her to be behaved. I think for a lot of young people now it’s not easy to figure out who you are because it’s constantly changing di ba? And they constantly change with the times. Para sa akin, I think one of the more important lessons, siguro coming from someone who’s older, at every stage in your life you have to grow, you have to change, but you always need to figure out what is your core and who you truly are. And you have to be authentically yourself at every stage of your life. I guess for a lot of young people they’re trying to discover who they are and a lot of the characters here in season 2 that’s what happens to them. They discover who they are, what they believe in and what they’re willing to fight for. So same thing for a lot of young people now. Same thing with Kaori, mas may nuance. Kasi I think mas challenging yung material for them right now eh. It’s more mature so minsan kailangan nilang humugot. Their characters are going through experiences that may not be theirs so kailangan nila makahanap ng hugot sa sarili nilang buhay kung paano nila idi-deliver yun. Nakita ko naman grabe yung baha ng luha ni Kaori. Si Miah may isa siyang scene talaga na nung napanuod ko sabi ko, ‘Ay, ibang iba na siya. Hindi na siya si Babu’ and instruction ko sa kanya yun. Alam niya yun. Kasi I was really saying you have to be a different person this season. casting of BINI member Mikha Lim to replace original cast member Melizza Jimenez who played the role of Elle Luna. She explained that Melizza chose to focus on her Double Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Communication at the Queensland University of Technology.</p><p>“Actually we were really supposed to shoot with Meli. Kaya lang, siyempre may mga life choices na ginawa si Meli and we fully support that. Gusto talaga mag-aral ni Meli abroad. So nung nag-open up na yung Australia and she can go abroad, hindi na naman namin matanggal yung character ni Elle. So we had to recast the role and so si Mikha Lim of BINI stepped in sa role,” she said.</p><p>Vanessa had only praises for the BINI member’s acting debut in <em>He’s Into Her</em>’s new season.</p><p>“We’re very happy that we discovered Mikha. She’s one of those rare finds na first time actress pero intuitively alam niya yung role so nakakapagbigay siya ng emotions. Actually it’s one of those rare auditions that I’ve had with someone na first take may naramdaman ka, first take ang galing. So yun si Mikha. We love Meli and we miss her and we thank her for the wonderful portrayal that she gave us nung season 1 but we support naman talaga her decision to broaden her horizons and to study. So we had to accept that and we had to look for someone who can take on the role. Yun ang nangyari,” she added.</p>
