In the July 8th episode of Flower of Evil, viewers were surprised as actor Paulo Avelino could be seen in the closing scene of the episode. After the episode, Dreamscape Entertainment formally announced the inclusion of Paulo to the cast.

In the closing scene, Paulo could be seen unconscious and in a hospital bed. Paulo will be playing the role of Jacob Del Rosario in the Philippine adaptation of the Korean drama. He is considered as the “real” Jacob since his identity is being used by Piolo Pascual to cover up his mysterious past.

The addition of Paulo in the series was a surprise for all the viewers as the actor was not present in any of the press conferences attended by the cast and crew of Flower of Evil. He was also not in any of the promotional materials released prior to the showing of the series.

The Filipino adaptation of Flower of Evil will be following the same plot as its South Korean counterpart. Iris, who is played by Lovi Poe, is a police detective who investigates a murder case which is linked to the past of her husband Jacob, played by Piolo.
