Aside from being a content creator and social media personality, Sassa Gurl can now also add a game show host under her list of talents. 

This, after it was announced that she is one of the hosts of the upcoming Philippine reboot of the iconic 80s Japanese game show Takeshi’s Castle. 

The online personality shared why she was more than excited after being invited to join the eight-episode project. 

“Kasi fan na rin talaga ako ng Takeshi’s Castle nung medyo bagets bagets pa ako. And also sobrang enjoy talaga kasi. Talagang super watch ako niyan dati. Kasi sobrang aliw na aliw ako. Ang liliksi ng mga Hapon, nakakaloka," she said during the Takeshi’s Castle presscon held last November 8 in Quezon City. 

"Pinapanuod ko yan sa replay, paulit ulit. Naka-save pa 'yan sa phone ko, ganun. Ganun ang atake. Super fan talaga ako niyan dati. Ginagawa namin ng mga barkada 'yan. Nag-pe-pretend pretend kami na nasa Takeshi’s Castle kami. Pinoy na Pinoy kasi 'yung atake niya di ba? Larong iskwater, ganun (laughs). So it’s very close to my heart,” she added.

As a first-time host, Sassa Gurl said she felt relieved and happy to be treated well on the set by her co-hosts Eugene Domingo and Smokey Manaloto. 

Smokey was one of the two original hosts of the original version of Takeshi’s Castle, which aired in the Philippines in the 90s. 

“In fairness naman talaga, sobrang welcoming sa akin ng mga co-host ko. And sobrang ni-lu-look up to ko itong mga ‘to. Binayaran ako para makipagplastikan dito (laughs). Happy naman ako kaso ako kumuha ng pang-aasar at mga lait,” she admitted. 

When asked to share one of the most unforgettable moments on set while working with Project 8 Productions, Sassa Gurl revealed that she enjoyed dressing up in different costumes. 

“Isa sa pinaka paborito ko, yung kapag araw-araw meron tayong iba ibang outfit. 'Yung mga outfit namin talagang pasabog. Talagang binudget-an kami ng set. Talagang every time kino-concept-uan kami," she said. 

"At saka talagang nag-aaway kami sa mga contestants, nakakaloka. Kulang na lang magkademandahan na kami dun sa sari-sari store. So ang happy,” she added. 

Known for her unique fashion sense and quirky sense of humor, Sassa Gurl admitted that she would also love to be able to venture when it comes to acting and her career. 

“Well, game ko naman talaga ang comedy at pagpapatawa  kasi kinalakihan ko na talaga 'yan. Ever since naging baklang kanal talaga ako. Bilang isang baklang kanal, talagang mahilig talaga ako magpatawa na bakla," she said. 

She went on: "Pero siyempre kasi sa society natin, diba nga LGBT, very expected talaga 'yan na comedy ang gagawin. Since ako as an artist, raket na raket ako ngayon eh. Since marami na ngayon mga type of films, siyempre gusto ko din na maranasan o ma-try na magkaroon ako ng at least mga ibang tye or atake na mga puwede ko pasukin na mga larangan or genre." 

"Kasi siyempre nakakapagod din magpatawa ng magpatawa. So yung mga psychological na mga genre, ganyan,” she continued. 

Takeshi's Castle starts streaming on Prime Video on November 16.
