BTS members RM and V started their mandatory military services on Monday, December 11.

According to a report by Yonhap News Agency, the two K-Pop artists arrived at a military boot camp in Nonsan, South Chungcheong Province, where they will undergo a five-week basic military training.

BTS member Jin was the first to enlist in South Korea's mandatory military service, followed by J-Hope and Suga.

Jin and J-Hope are currently performing active military duties, respectively. Meanwhile, Suga is engaged as a social service agent.

Before the commencement of his military service, RM penned a message for the BTS fans.

"I was so happy to have been able to live as [a member of] BTS for the past 10 years. I’ve said this over and over again, but since an end is also a beginning!" he said in a letter he posted on his Instagram Stories.

"I have faith and I have no doubt that after this passes, new good things will be waiting for us," he added.

V, on the other hand, penned a message on Weverse ahead of his military enlistment.

"I think I will miss you all so much. Honestly, I’m sad that I can’t make happy memories with ARMY (BTS’s official fan club) for the time being, but besides that one thing, it would be fine," V wrote.

"The hardest thing is not being able to see ARMY. After a long period of 18 months, I will return to really good health, so ARMY, take good care of your health, and if you spend each day looking for happiness, I will appear saying, 'Ta-da! I’m here!'" he added.
