<p>Kapamilya actor Daniel Padilla is officially a nominee for the upcoming Seoul International Drama Awards (SDA) 2023 for the Outstanding Asian Star category. Since then, four other Filipino nominees were announced and will go head-to-head with other Asian acts.</p><p>Daniel and Kathryn were both recognized by SDA 2023 for their work over the past year on the hit show, <em>2 Good 2 Be True.</em> Joining the real life couple are Barbie Forteza, Julie Anne San Jose, and Dennis Trillo for their drama, <em>Maria Clara at Ibarra</em>. </p><p>Other Asian artists that are nominated for the award are South Korea’s Lee Je-hoon, Park Eun-bin, Yoona, Song Joong-ki, and Song Hye-kyo. Lai Guan-lin, Dylan Wang, and Yu Shuxin, Nickhun, Vivian Sung, Tsuyoshi Kusanagi, and Kento Yamazaki are also strong contenders for the award. </p><p>Fans of Daniel will have the opportunity to vote for him through the voting app ‘Idolchamp’––a voting platform service developed by TNK Factory and MBC Plus. It was created due to the rise of global popularity of K-Pop. Girls’ Generation, ENHYPEN, and PENTAGON are nominated for the said category. </p><p>SDA will be marking its 18th anniversary this year and is sponsored by South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Seoul Metropolitan Government, among others. </p><p>Several Filipino acts such as Belle Mariano, Alden Richards, Dingdong Dantes, and Dennis Trillo have already won awards from SDA. </p>
