Nameless Kids’ single is OST of ‘Sparks Camp’

Five-piece group Nameless Kids talked about what it was like singing the official soundtrack for Sparks Camp.  “Since we’re writing in our native tongue, naging natural and honest ‘yung pagkasulat,” shared Tarsier Records’ indie pop-alternative band Nameless Kids when they talked about their first Tagalog love-themed song Sa’Yo Ang Mundo. “Hindi rin namin tinry maging clever, hindi namin tinry maging teknikal sa songwriting.”“It was more of just speaking out the truth, our truth,” they added.&quot;Sa’Yo Ang Mundo&quot; brings forth the concept of “soft launching”, or introducing one’s significant other without an official or formal announcement. More than that, the song serves as the band’s nod toward those who have chosen to live their truth and share it with others.That being said, it seems fitting that &quot;Sa’Yo Ang Mundo&quot; was chosen as the OST of Sparks Camp, the country’s first-ever queer dating reality show. After all, that is also what the show aims to be: a platform for representation and a chance to speak out the truth about their identity and right to love.The Made-for-YouTube series runs for eight episodes and is shown on Black Sheep’s YouTube channel. All throughout the show, the audience will witness stories of the ten campers who have chosen to bare themselves and share their truth.“Hopefully, this show will mark why our love is beautiful, why our identities are beautiful, why our whole being is beautiful,” said the show’s Mother Sparker and host, Mela Habijan.Nameless Kids launched their “Sa’Yo Ang Mundo” just over a month ago. True to form, it was a soft launch held last April 20, 2023, at the Take Over Lounge in Quezon City. The vibe was very laid back, like a chill jamming session with friends. They were joined by their friends from the industry such as I Belong To The Zoo, Allen&amp;Elle, St. Wolf, Ysanygo, and Party Pace.Nameless Kids is composed of Nhiko Sabiniano, Kyle Perry, Tati De Mesa, Kim Allen, and Imay Alconaba. They were actually two small groups that decided to merge since they realized they had a shared vision.According to their Twitter profile, they are “completely different individuals come together to form one sole identity, we are nameless.” The idea is to put the focus primarily on their music and not on them as individual personalities.“It’s our mantra as artists,” they explained further. “Kung may makikilala, it’s our music and not our names.”Indeed, their music is already making a mark in the industry, with the band garnering accolades for their sound. Though they just started in 2019, they have already won awards such as Best Performance of a New Group Recording Artist for their debut single Outlaws at the 34th Awit Awards and Nylon Manila’s Big, Bold, Brave Awards.These, for them, serve as a motivation and a reminder that they are on the right track.“Reasssurance siya sa amin, kasi hindi naman lahat ng artists tuloy-tuloy,” they said. “Ito ‘yung reassurance na okay, ilalaban natin ‘to.”With many artists struggling to make a name for themselves, Nameless Kids said they feel grateful that their artistry is being acknowledged by both fans and peers in the industry. To date, &quot;Sa’Yo Ang Mundo&quot; has been streamed over 10,000 times on Spotify Philippines.“Nakaka-motivate siya to create more music,” they shared. “tama pala ‘yung ginagawa natin. Pwede pa tayo magtuloy-tuloy.”&quot;Sa’Yo Ang Mundo&quot; is not their first song to be included in a show’s official soundtrack. Their songs were previously part of the iWantTFC series <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/hesintoher">He’s Into Her</a>, and their song &quot;Life’s A Beach&quot; was also the theme song of Beach Bros, another iWantTFC project.Aside from their guestings and gigs, Nameless Kids still has a lot of projects in the works.“An album, definitely,” they promised. “More live performances, a lot more content.”
