More Madlang People will get to join in on the fun and excitement on t’s Showtime  as GMA Network’s free-to-air channel GTV announced that ABS-CBN’s long-running noontime variety show will air on the channel.

On Tuesday, June 20, GTV shared a photo featuring the hosts of It’s Showtime with the text “G na G!”

“Madlang people, let's make some noise!” GTV wrote in the caption.

Fans expressed their excitement over the news, with many calling it “history in the making.”

“First time in the history of TV. Welcome kapusong kapamilya,” one fan wrote.

“The biggest twist,” another fan wrote.

Meanwhile, Vice Ganda also took to Twitter to share the same photo and wrote: “LezzzGo na! G na G na kami!”

The announcement comes two weeks after CignalTV announced that Eat BulagaTito Sotto, Vic Sotto, Joey De Leon, and other hosts will officially move to TV5 and take over the noontime slot of the Kapatid network. It’s Showtime currently holds the noontime slot on TV5.

The noontime slot has always been a battle for audience viewership in the Philippines, with many attributing it to the ratings war between the major networks in the country.

However, ABS-CBN released a statement following the announcement and expressed its gratitude to TV5 for allowing the show to reach a wider audience through the partnership which enabled it to air on the network.

“ABS-CBN would like to extend its heartfelt appreciation to TV5 Chairman Manny Pangilinan for his support for ABS-CBN and for bringing It’s Showtime to a wider audience through our content partnership,” ABS-CBN said.

ABS-CBN also confirmed that It’s Showtime will no longer air on TV5 starting July 1, hinting that TVJ’s new show will air on the network starting that same day.

“With the new programming movements in TV5, we are sad to announce that ‘It's Showtime’ will no longer be seen on TV5 beginning 1 July 2023,” ABS-CBN said.

ABS-CBN also revealed TV5 offered to move them to the network’s late afternoon slot but opted to respectfully decline it.

“For 14 years, It’s Showtime has brought joy and entertainment to our Madlang People here and abroad. We value the meaningful relationship we have built and nurtured with our audience in the noontime slot. It is for this reason that we have respectfully declined the 4:30 pm timeslot offered by TV5 for the show,” ABS-CBN said.

ABS-CBN reassured Madlang People that they won’t stop bringing in fun and laughter as they announced that It’s Showtime will still air A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC on top of the new partnership with GMA Network’s GTV.

“We assure the viewers of It’s Showtime that they can continue to watch their favorite noontime show on A2Z, Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, iWantTFC, and TFC from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon,” ABS-CBN said.

“We are also very grateful to GMA’s GTV Channel and happy to announce that It's Showtime has found another home. Starting 1 July 2023, It's Showtime will also be aired on GTV from Monday to Saturday at 12 noon. G na G na tayo, Madlang People! “ ABS-CBN added.

Expressing its gratitude to GMA Network, ABS-CBN said: “We are thankful for the loyal support our audiences have provided for It’s Showtime  and hope they continue to find joy and entertainment on the show as it seeks to find more ways to reach them.”
