PPOPCON Manila 2023 gathers Pinoy pop acts

<p>Some of the country’s biggest local pop acts came together for the highly-anticipated 2023 Philippine Pop Convention (PPOPCON), billed as the first and largest event that celebrates Pinoy Pop Music.</p><p>The three-day convention — held from July 14 to 16 at Quantum Skyview and Araneta Coliseum — featured performances from top Pinoy pop groups such as SB19, BGYO, BINI, and MNL48, among others. </p><p>It was originally scheduled to take place last March at the New Frontier Theater and Araneta, but was later on postponed due to &quot;logistical concerns.”</p><p>During the concert, MNL48 shined onstage with their performance of “Pag-big Fortune Cookie,” “Green Flash,” and “Manila48.” </p><p>BINI also made a splash with their medley performance of “Na Na Na,” “Lagi,” and “I Feel Good.” They also sang their hits “Strings” and “No Fear.”</p><p>Addressing the crowd, BINI Aiah said: “We are extremely grateful to be here kasi grabe iba ‘yong energy, and we are so happy to see everybody again.”</p><p> BINI Jhoanna added: “Ang sarap lang sa feeling na galing tayo sa iba’t ibang fandom. ‘Yong mga nasa harap natin ngayon, for sure iba-iba ‘yong sinusuportahan nila pero grabe ‘yong cheer nila no’ng nagpe-perform ‘yong bawat grupo. Maraming salamat po.&quot;</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2023/7/1/2023-ppopcon-to-push-through-this-july-1651"><strong>Read: 2023 PPOPCON to push through this July</strong></a></div><p>Meanwhile, BGYO treated their fans with their live performance of their hit singles “Magnet,” “Panaginip,” and “Extraordinary.” </p><p>BGYO Akira and Gelo thanked the audience for supporting Pinoy pop music.</p><p>“Kung ano pa man pong P-Pop group ang sinusuportahan niyo ngayong gabi, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyong lahat, kasi po kung hindi dahil sa inyo, walang P-Pop,&quot; BGYO Akira said.</p><p>“We would like to congratulate every P-Pop group po na may extraordinary talent para umusbong ang P-Pop sa buong mundo po. They were joined by Dione, R Rules, Daydream, Mona, Valfer, VER5US, Yes My Love, Z2Z, SMS, BLVCK Flowers, Eclipse, 6Sense, and SKOUTS, who also provided performances during the two-day convention at the Quantum Skyview.</p>
