<p>Elijah Canlas is mourning the death of his younger brother Jamile Matthew Canlas, or JM, as he was known to many. </p><p>He was 17.</p><p>The family confirmed the sad news through a Facebook post on Thursday evening, August 3.</p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fdiyerom%2Fposts%2Fpfbid0QsmCu7eYHCGGF811MvhPNDuPGuWYk7wvRuaiYbYjZC9QJQ7TFUijPKPayzMfnGdKl&amp;show_text=true&amp;width=500" width="500" height="730" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>&quot;It is with the heaviest heart and deep sorrow that our family announces the death of our bunso, Jamile Matthew Madiclum Canlas, earlier this morning. He was 17,” the post read.</p><p>“JM, as he was known to many, was a talented actor, athlete, musician, singer, debater, and gamer. He was always a proud Filipino with a bias and compassion for the poor and oppressed. But most of all, JM will forever be remembered as an incredible young man, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, student, and friend.”</p><p>“In his adolescence, JM struggled with his mental health. If you are experiencing current distress and are in need of URGENT ATTENTION, please proceed to the emergency room of the hospital nearest you,” it added.</p><p>In a separate post, Elijah’s family thanked everyone who remembered and sent their love to JM and their family.</p><p>“Dear family and friends, we have been seeing your love and messages for our bunso. Maraming salamat po. As we begin our beloved Jm Canlas’ wake tonight, we would love for you to share your memories with him. Comment a story, photo, song, poem, or anything you want with/for JM,” the post read.</p><p>“Let’s celebrate his life.
