“Elvi Vergara is a domestic helper who has been allegedly physically, mentally and verbally abused by her employers so much that she has been blinded in both eyes. She is currently going to have an operation in one eye to try to recover her sight in one eye—but the outcome is unsure,” Isabelle wrote.

The actress added how grateful she is to everyone who contributed to her cause.

“It's only been 2 days but you guys have really opened your hearts and more importantly wallets. 💕 salamat! And I haven't even pressured my influencer friends to post or donate,” she added.

Elvi’s case is currently being heard in the Senate. The government is doing its best to recover the salaries, benefits, and other damages that she endured while under the employment of her alleged abusers.

“I am raising funds for her to be able to live her life free from this abuse without having to worry about what she will eat and [whether] she [would] have enough money to live,” Isabelle continued.

Isabelle assured all those who donated that she would personally hand over the cash to the house helper herself.

“God bless you [Isabelle Daza] this is amazing. Been following this case,” actress Sofia Andres commented.

“God bless you for this initiative @isabelledaza. You've always had that soft spot for kasambahays, in fact my admiration for you went off the roof when I read your post and an article about how you treat your kasambahays and give them full benefit,” a netizen said.
