The film's executive producer and 28 Squared Studios' Chief Executive Officer, Richard Juan, announced the news in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC's Headstart on Tuesday, January 16.

"This is going to be the first time that we are really announcing this but we are actually only going in cinemas, that's the plan," Richard remarked.

He went on: "With the success of MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival), with billion [peso] na napasok and all of that, we realized that this is the time to go back to cinemas and really promote and support Philippine cinema also. So the route we are actually going for is full on cinema and I think this has huge, huge potential not just of course in the Philippines but in the region also so we are going for the cinema route."

Richard highlighted that watching a movie in cinemas remains to be a unique and special experience.

"Honestly for me, I feel like it's a whole different experience watching the film on the big screen. Of course as a producer we went through a couple of edits, I watched everything through you know the small screen of a laptop but when you are in a cinema, we did a viewing kasi on a bigger screen, there were so many things that you don't notice on the small screen that you see on the big screen," he shared.

Richard also shared the brief plot of Under Parallel Skies. "It's about a Thai bachelor who travels to Hong Kong in search of his missing mother, so may konting family element din kami, only to meet a Filipino hotelier... and they navigate through love, heartbreak, and healing."
