Under Parallel Skies, the cross-country film starring Thai actor Win Metawin and Filipino actress Janella Salvador, is set to be released exclusive in cinemas in 2024.

The film's executive producer and 28 Squared Studios' Chief Executive Officer, Richard Juan, announced the news in an interview with Karen Davila on ANC's Headstart on Tuesday, January 16.

"This is going to be the first time that we are really announcing this but we are actually only going in cinemas, that's the plan," Richard remarked.

He went on: "With the success of MMFF (Metro Manila Film Festival), with billion [peso] na napasok and all of that, we realized that this is the time to go back to cinemas and really promote and support Philippine cinema also. So the route we are actually going for is full on cinema and I think this has huge, huge potential not just of course in the Philippines but in the region also so we are going for the cinema route."

Richard highlighted that watching a movie in cinemas remains to be a unique and special experience.

"Honestly for me, I feel like it's a whole different experience watching the film on the big screen. Of course as a producer we went through a couple of edits, I watched everything through you know the small screen of a laptop but when you are in a cinema, we did a viewing kasi on a bigger screen, there were so many things that you don't notice on the small screen that you see on the big screen," he shared.

Richard also shared the brief plot of Under Parallel Skies. "It's about a Thai bachelor who travels to Hong Kong in search of his missing mother, so may konting family element din kami, only to meet a Filipino hotelier... and they navigate through love, heartbreak, and healing."

"What's a better city than Hong Kong to talk about this type of cross-cultural love, cross-cultural relationship, kasi Hong Kong is a melting pot of different cultures," Richard added.

As to the release date of the film, Richard shared that it will be announced via social media soon.

"Under Parallel Skies will be coming out very, very soon. [For the] release date just watch out on social media and I hope everyone can support this because it's one of the very few things that I feel like it's very different, it's cross-country, it's Philippines, it's Thailand," he said.

He added: "I hope Filipinos would love this, I hope Thai people would love this, I hope people around the region would love this."
