Selena Gomez, David Henrie back for ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ sequel

Let’s have a (magical) 2024 y’all :) The Russo’s are back!”</p><div style="text-align:center"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/Selena-Gomez-David-Henrie-back-for-Wizards-of-Waverly-Place-sequel-3.jpg" style="width:400px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>Deadline magazine, in an exclusive report, revealed that Selena and David will also be executive producing the series.</p><p>However, the singer-actress will only guest star in the pilot as Alex Russo, while David will be a series regular.</p><p>The magazine also announced that there will be new cast members to join the series’ sequel, including stars such as Disney’s Just Roll with It&#x27;s Janice LeAnn Brown, who will play Billie, Call Me Kat&#x27;s Alkaio Thiele as Justin’s oldest son Roman, and American Princess&#x27;s Mimi Gianopulos as Justin’s wife Giada.</p><p>Deadline also reported that the plot of the sequel as an expanded version of the original story.</p><p>“In the sequel, Justin Russo is all grown up, with a wife and two sons. Justin has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life. After a mysterious incident at WizTech, Justin gets a surprise when a powerful young wizard in need of training shows up at his door. Greenwald followed the story of the three siblings (David’s Justin, Selena&#x27;s Alex, and Jake Ausitin’s Max) of the Russo family, who tried their best to master their magical abilities as well as hide their real identity while navigating challenges as adolescents.</p><p>The series also had a movie version in 2009, on Disney Channel as well as a stand-alone television special, <em>The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex,</em> in 2013.</p>
