<p><em>Bar Boys: A New Musical</em>–– the law school musical that surprised everyone–– is set to make its return this October. Oebanda. It follows the life of four friends and their journey to become lawyers, their dreams, ideals, and even friendship are challenged by the demands of law school, the pressures of love and life, and the harsh reality of the world.</p><p>Book and lyrics are by Pat Valera, who will return to direct alongside Mikko Angeles. Myke Salomon, who composed the adaptation’s original songs, also serves as the musical director. Jomelle Era will also return for movement direction.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2024/4/21/must-watch-musicals-this-summer-1052"><strong>READ: 5 Must-watch musicals this summer<br/></strong></a></div><p>Theater fans expressed their excitement for the rerun of the well-loved musical. Some netizens shared how difficult it was to get a ticket as the shows were selling out real fast.</p><p>“Can’t wait to watch you again Erik Vicencio, break a leg,” a fan shared.</p><p>“Absolutely love this 😭😭😭 break dem legs, you guys,” another fan wrote</p><p>Apart from<em> Bar Boys: A New Musical</em>, Barefoot Theatre Collaborative has been staging other world-class theatrical live performances.</p><p>Their recent works include the mega-hit musical Mula sa Buwan and the critically-acclaimed Pride Plays: Unica Hijas &amp; Laro, and the successful local staging of Jason Robert Brown’s The Last Five Years, among others.</p>
