<p>Cardiologist and health advocate Willie Ong has launched his senatorial bid amid his battle with cancer.</p><p>The doctor&#x27;s wife, Liza Ong, filed his Certificate of Candidacy on his behalf, at the Commission on Elections on Thursday, October 3.</p><p>In her short speech, Liza expressed her gratitude to those who have been praying for her husband saying: &quot;Maraming salamat po sa lahat ng nagdasal for Doc Willie Ong, thank you po.&quot;</p><p>The family&#x27;s counsel and spokesperson, lawyer Gilberto Lauengco, shared that the doctor will do physical campaigns in the Philippines by end of the year. Willie is currently in Singapore to undergo his treatment for cancer.</p><p>&quot;In so far as his health condition is concerned, he will be able to go back to the Philippines by end of November and he will be able to physically campaign by December,&quot; Gilberto relayed.</p><p>The doctor will also be utilizing social media in his campaign.</p><div><iframe width="928" height="522" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/AdU5q4rcCUo" title="Doc Willie Ong&#x27;s wife turns emotional as she files ailing husband&#x27;s COC | ABS-CBN News" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>The lawyer relayed that Willie&#x27;s doctors in Singapore pointed out that the health advocate&#x27;s condition is &quot;treatable.&quot;</p><p>When asked what made the doctor decide to run for the senate despite his condition, Gilberto relayed: &quot;Siguro dahil may oras siya para magnilay-nilay napag-desisyonan na, &#x27;I think this is something of a sign, you never really know what is going to happen. Might as well go for what I believe is right.&#x27; So [napag-] desisyonan niyang tumakbo despite all the odds.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Sabi niya, &#x27;Lalaban ako.
