Several celebrities have chosen to forego their busy schedules in the showbiz industry as they eye a public position in the upcoming 2025 National Elections. These celebrities have filed their Certificate of Candidacy (COC) and have the intent to serve the public by holding key positions in their respective districts.

Check out the list of celebrities-turned-politicians down below:

Aiko Melendez

The seasoned actress announced that she will make her reelection bid as the councilor of the fifth district of Quezon City. She was previously the councilor of the second district of Quezon City from 2001 to 2010. 

Nora Aunor

The veteran actress joined the People’s Champ Movement–– a partylist which was founded by former Senator Manny Pacquiao. She will be designated as one of the nominees of the partylist.

Cai Cortez

The comedian-actress expressed her intent to run for public office earlier this week as she filed her COC. She is aiming for the councilor position in Taytay, Rizal where she currently resides. 

Shamcey Supsup

The former Miss Universe Philippines title holder and current Miss Universe Philippines national director will try to win the councilor position in the first district of Pasig City. She previously ran under the ARTE partylist as its first nominee.

Bong Revilla 

The action star turned politician is bidding for his reelection in the Senate as he filed for his COC earlier this week. After his successful campaign in 2019, Bong looks forward to continuing what he started once he is reelected in position.

He was previously cleared of 16 counts of graft in connection with the pork barrel scam where his name was involved. 

These are just some of the celebrities that have filed for candidacy in the upcoming 2025 national elections as of this writing. The filing of COCs began last October 1 and will end on October 8 as announced by the Commission on Elections.
