Kapamilya star Carla Guevara-Laforteza revealed that she would love to return to the small screen if given the opportunity. The theater actress shared this in an exclusive interview with PUSH during the cast announcement of her upcoming musical, Going Home to Christmas: A Jose Mari Chan Musical.

Despite her willingness to be back on television, her busy schedule from her first love–– theater–– is something that hinders her from making the return. She shared how grateful she is that her management, Star Magic, fully understands her passion when it comes to theater.

“I’m so grateful for direk Lauren (Diyogi) and my handlers in Star Magic because they know my first priority is really theater. Normally [and] thankfully, I get work like this last quarter, meron na akong work up to the third quarter of next year,” she shared.

Carla jokingly shared that because of her busy schedule in theater, they have to pre-book her in advance so that she could join some television shows.

“I’m managed by Star Magic so I get dyahe with my handler mother Nette (Rustia) kasi almost every week [she says] ‘Nak, available ka ba? May taping sa ganyan.’ Sabi ko, ‘Mother may rehearsals ako… kasi ipre book niyo na ako a year in advanced,’” she quipped.

While she is able to do some small roles here and there on TV due to her tight schedule, Carla is hopeful she could still act in a full-length television series once more. She revealed that she wants to do a sitcom if given the chance.

“I would love to do a full-length TV series again. I’m hoping they would bring back sitcoms. Ang specialty ko talaga is character acting. Ewan ko kung nakakatawa ako pero mukha naman tumatawa yung mga tao pag nagcocomedy ako. I would love to do a sitcom kung ibalik yan sa TV kasi wala ng sitcoms ngayon,” she expressed.
