Xyriel Manabat shares reason she went on hiatus from showbiz

<p>Former child star Xyriel Manabat opened up about why she took a break from showbiz for years.</p><p>In an interview for <em>On Cue</em>, the actress relayed that she was longing to slow down back then as she was experiencing burnout.</p><p>&quot;Hindi ko lang alam na &#x27;yun &#x27;yung term, gusto ko lang may ma-fulfill sa youth ko. But I didn&#x27;t know that part of me was burned out na po kasi, araw-araw, buong kabataan ko, nagwo-work ako,&quot; she confessed.</p><p>Xyriel pointed out that she wanted to experience living a regular life saying. &quot;Gusto ko &#x27;yung alarm ko hindi dahil sa pullout at pupunta sa location, gusto ko &#x27;yung susunduin ako ng service and hindi ako mag-a-absent sa school.&quot;</p><p>After taking a hiatus from the entertainment industry, Xyriel became an honor student in school.</p><div><iframe width="1583" height="604" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/vfB-7ue5Fxo" title="ON CUE: Xyriel Manabat | ABS-CBN News" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>&quot;Since I started high school, I was a consistent honor student po. When I was in junior high, natapos po ako ng salutatorian,&quot; she said.</p><p>Xyriel returned to acting via the hit Kapamilya show <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/dirtylinen"><em><strong><u>Dirty Linen</u></strong></em></a> in 2023</p><p>On what made her decide to come back to the limelight, she shared: &quot;Practical reason is financial. But my friends tell me, non-showbiz or showbiz friends who are still there, &#x27;pag nakwekwento ako, when they see the pain in my eyes, you know, it’s still there.
