However, Disney later confirmed that the original screenwriter Jared Bush will return for the sequel.</p><p><em>Zootopia </em>became a global hit when it was first released, grossing more than $1 billion US dollars (over ₱55 billion), making it the fourth-highest grossing film in 2016.</p><p>The film also bagged the Best Animated Film award at the 89th Academy Awards and was named one of the top ten best films of 2016 by the American Film Institute.</p><p><em>Zootopia </em>follows the story of Judy Hopps, a young bunny who dreams of becoming a police officer in the big city. But after a disappointing first day at work, she runs into Nick Wilde, a fox who dedicates his life to tricking others to his advantage. While the characters don&#x27;t get along at first, they&#x27;re forced to work together when predators go out of control. </p><div><iframe width="1583" height="604" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/jWM0ct-OLsM" title="Zootopia Official US Trailer #2" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>Directed by Byron Howard (of <em>Encanto</em>) and Rich Moore (of <em>Ralph Breaks the Internet</em>), the animated film starred Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Shakira, J.K.
