Vice Ganda on doing a new movie with Jun Lana: ‘I have been praying for a movie that will have an eternal value’

<p>Unkabogable Star Vice Ganda was ecstatic after announcing his new movie project with award-winning director Jun Lana.</p><p>During the New Movie Alert media conference, the <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/itsshowtime"><em><strong>It’s Showtime</strong></em></a> host shared how working with Direk Jun is a fulfillment of his new dream for his filmography.</p><p>“Gusto ko ito. Dream ko ito. Kasi habang tumatanda ka, may gusto ka nang mas malalim na nangyayari sa sarili mo. Yung may eternal value. I want a movie, I have been praying for a movie that will have an eternal value, hindi na (lang) iyong kumikita na siya ng malaking-malaki,” Vice expressed.</p><div style="text-align:center"><img src="https://od2-image-api.abs-cbn.com/prod/editorImage/Vice-Ganda-on-doing-a-new-movie-with-Jun-Lana_.jpg" style="width:400px" class="fr-fic fr-dib"/></div><p>He went on: “Hindi ba may mga pelikulang hindi naman tumabo sa takilya pero has an eternal value, sa Philippine cinemas, sa kamalayan ng mga nakapanood sa kaniya na dumarating iyong panahon na binabalikan siya dahil sa uri ng pelikulang ginawa niya.</p><p>“I want to experience that now and I will be experiencing that now with Star Cinema and The Idea First Company and with them (writers) and Direk Jun Lana,” Vice gratefully stated.</p><p>Vice is set to star in the collaboration project of Star Cinema and The Idea First Company titled, And The Breadwinner is…, which they first announced earlier on the Kapamilya noontime show.</p><p>When asked why Vice chose to star in the film, he said that the story is something that is very relatable to every Filipino family.</p><p>“Iba’t ibang klaseng tao ang nakakasalamuha ko araw-araw, sa dami ng mga Madlang People na nakakausap ko at naririnig ko iyong istorya nila, halos paulit-ulit din. Kaya sinasabi ko mayroon isang isyu na nakakarelate ang lahat kasi hindi ba ang problema ng maraming Pilipino is how to survive, and every Filipino family has that one person that is making it possible for the entire family to survive,” he said.</p><p>“May isang tao talaga na nakikipaglaban na ginagawa ang lahat para maitaguyod hindi lang ang sarili niya but pati lahat,” he added.</p><p>Vice is known for making family-centered comedy films which are loved by many Filipinos. Now that he is returning to the big screen, the creative team of the film promised viewers a happy but tearful story that they would look forward to this year.</p><p>“It’s everything na hinihintay ng mga tao sa isang pelikula ni Vice, yung nakakatawa, yung riot na comedy and so much more. However, the whole production team wanted everything to be perfect.</p><p>“Last year pa namin ito napag-uusapan pero ayaw namin ipilit,” Vice said.</p><p>The noontime show host also revealed that the whole preparation for his new film is something that will pave the way for his other dream of bringing his film abroad.</p><p>“Gusto ko talaga ng magandang project. Hindi lang ako kasi ang Star Cinema gustong gusto din iyon. Nagtatackle din kami ng mahahalagang issues pero hindi ko kasi talaga siya tinatry laliman kasi kapag Pasko, kasi dati pampasko yung mga pelikula ko, ayaw ko sila pag-isipin. Gusto ko lang sila patawanin kasi ang dami na nilang iniisip. Pero yung mga Pilipino ngayon, gusto na nila mag-isip, gusto na nila magrealize oh edi samahan ko kayo mag-isip. Sabay-sabay tayo magrealize ng mga bagay-bagay,” he said.</p>
