Kapamilya television personality Luis Manzano expressed how overwhelmed and happy he is now that he is a father to his and actress Jessie Mendiola’s daughter, Isabella Rose, whom they call Peanut.

In a Father’s Day special of his Luis Listens vlog series, the Kapamilya star shared how he sometimes feels soft whenever he sees his daughter and has a bonding moment with her.

“Hindi ko inexpect na ganito ka overwhelming. Hindi ko lang pinapahalata sa iyo pero actually alam mo, na may mga moments na naiiyak ako kay Peanut. Nandoon pa rin tayo,” Luis shared with Jessy, who became the special host for the episode.

“I still find myself in awe na nakagawa tayo, nakapagbigay ng ganoong klase ng buhay na nabigyan tayo ni Lord ng magandang buhay… May mga moments ako na naiiyak pa rin ako na ang bilis niya lumaki… Kapag nagmorning kisses kami, it’s a very overwhelming feeling,” Luis added.

He also shared how being a father to Peanut gave him the drive to work hard and at the same time spend more time to be with his family.

“Now I’m more driven. Gusto ko rin magsipag. Bilang isang tatay at asawa, magiging realist ka. Dati kasi yung gastusin andiyan lang, ngayon iniisip mo na… Naiisip mo na kasi as a provider… I’m more driven sa mga kailangan ko gawin para sa inyo, not just pera, but my responsibilities,” he remarked.

Luis then admitted some of the things he fears as a father.

“The biggest challenge is the fear of the unknown. As much as gusto ko sabihin na gusto ko ilatag ang future ninyo, hindi naman natin alam ano mangyayari bukas. Gusto ko ipave yung way na kapag dumating yung oras na kapag dumating yung number ko, you guys will be okay,” he said.

He went on: “But while I’m still paving that road, pinaghahandaan natin yung hindi man yung may sariling eroplano, but I want you to be okay pero that’s the biggest challenge dahil habang pinipave mo iyon, wala tayong kasiguraduhan lang ano mangyayari kinabukasan.”

Luis also shared how his previous challenges made him realize the importance of being ready for his family's future.

“Ayon yung challenge ko, malay ko hindi ko magawa kasi narealize ko because of what happened, because of some challenges na nangyari noong kamakailan na hindi mo talaga aakalain yung mangyayari sa buhay lalo na kapag may people involve, lalo na kapag may money involved, hindi mo aakalain yung mga pwede mangyari sa inyo kasi malay mo habang nireready ko na yung mga gusto ko sa inyo eh ma-jackpot na ako,” he stated.

For her part, Jessy expressed her appreciation for Luis being a great father to their child and being the head of their family.

“I think ito yata yung level sa buhay mo na nakita kita na ang laki na ng pinagbago mo. I don’t mean it in a bad way, as in yung mas nagmature ka, mas nag-tame ka na, mas naging relaxed ka ng  kaunti kasi dati sobrang hyper nito,” Jessy said.

She went on: “Nakita ko yung maturity kasi almost ten years na tayo together and I've seen your growth also, and I have to tell you this… I fall more in love with you every day kapag nakikita kita bilang tatay kay Rosie.”

“Lalong tumataba yung puso ko kapag nakikita ko kayo together kasi even siya, I’m sure kung nakakasalita na siya ng diretso sasabihin niya na you are the best father… We are very grateful for you kasi I can see how hard you are working right now. Kung talaga mayroon ka lang way na mapaghati yung katawan mo sa trabaho at makasama kami, gagawin mo talaga. We really appreciate that,” Jessy remarked, making Luis emotional.

This is the second time that the couple had a special parent-focused episode.

Last Mother’s Day, Jessy was Luis's special guest where she shared her realizations of being a mother to their one-year-old daughter.
