<p>Charlie Dizon revealed that Carlo Aquino proposed to her in Thailand in April 2023.</p><p>In an interview with Metro.Style, the actress shared that the proposal happened when they visited the country during the Songkran Festival for her birthday.</p><p>“&#x27;Di ko in-expect na magpro-propose siya du’n kasi wala pa rin kaming one year nu’n,” she told the magazine.</p><p>Carlo proposed to Charlie at a restaurant in Bangkok.</p><p>“Nagpatulong ako du’n sa best friend ko na Thai. Tapos, ayaw niya pang magsuot ng maayos nu’n. So sabi ko, ‘Mag-dress ka! Pagtingin ko, nakaluhod na siya. So ’yun pala, magpro-propose siya. So hindi ako makapaniwala!” she recalled.</p><p>Charlie recalled that she was at a loss for words at that time when Carlo asked her hand for marriage.</p><p>“Akala ko, nag-‘yes’ agad ako. Ta’s hindi pa pala. So parang sabi niya, ‘So ano’ng sagot?’ Sabi niya, ‘Kasi lahat ’to alam na ng lahat. Don’t worry!’ So du’n ko sinabi, ‘Oo naman!’ Akala ko nag-‘yes’ talaga ko in my mind. ’Yung parang ganun, sa sobrang taranta ko,&quot; she recollected.</p><p>The Kapamilya star shared that Carlo also spoke to her family, who are based in the US, via video call before proposing to her.</p><p>“’Yun na, nagpaalam na siya na magpro-propose na siya, ganu’n. So before nag-propose, nag-video call siya with my parents at tsaka ’yung mga kapatid ko,” Charlie shared.</p><p>Carlo detailed that he was on his way to buy an engagement ring when he spoke to Charlie&#x27;s family.</p><p>“Nakakatawa ’yung video call with her parents at ’tsaka sisters. So from Commonwealth going to Makati, magkausap kami. Sobrang traffic. Three hours kaming magkausap, tapos ayaw maniwala ng mom niya na magpro-propose na ako.”</p><p>He went on: “Yeah. And nagulat naman ako na nagpaalam siya. So nu’ng nag-propose siya, sinabi niya talaga na ‘alam na ’to ng lahat—sa US, sa ganiyan!’ Sinabi na niyang ganu’n. So ’yun, du’n na ako, ‘Oo naman!’ E ’di du’n ako nag-‘yes!’” she stated. </p><p>Charlie and Carlo tied the knot on June 9 at a private resort in Cavite.</p><p>The couple recently shared a clip of their wedding vows on social media.</p><p>In his message for Charlie, the actor expressed his attitude to the actress for saying yes to be his wife.</p><p>“April (Charlie&#x27;s real name), mahal ko. Ngayong araw na ito gusto kong magpasalamat sa iyo sa tapang mo kasi pumayag kang maging Mrs. Aquino. Nagpapasalamat ako sa nasa itaas dahil hindi Niya ako binigo. I love you.&quot;</p><p>Meanwhile, Charlie remarked that she is proud of them for making it through  challenges together.</p><p>“Alam ko hindi naging madali &#x27;yung journey natin as a couple but I am proud na nandito na tayo ngayon in front of everyone who loves us genuinely,” the actress remarked.  </p>
