On his personal social media page, Cedrick penned a message as the film won three awards at the recently concluded 7th edition of The Entertainment Editors' Choice or The EDDYs, last Sunday, July 7.

“Ang patuloy na pagkilala at nominasyon sa pelikulang GOMBURZA ay sumisimbulo sa mga pusong naantig, napukaw at nagising para sa pagpapahalaga sa ating mayamang kasaysayan. At sa pagsulong ng kanilang mithiin sa mga Pilipino na maging makatao, makatarungan at makabansa,” he expressed.

GOMBURZA, a film about the three martyr priests Mariano Gomez, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora during the Spanish colonization of the country, won Best Original Theme Song for “Sa Duyan ng Bayan” and Best Supporting Actor for Enchong Dee (who played Padre Jacinto Zamora) at the EDDYs.
