“Today, Philippine Sports has sadly lost one of its great ones. Words can’t express what @manolofrommanila stood and fought for when most, who had a voice, opted not to speak and act out,” he said.

He added, “Bago pa man mangyari to, alam kong andami mo pang gustong gawin para makatulong sa minamahal nating Philippine Sports. Wag ka magalala Comm. Itutuloy ko ang laban mo. Trust that the passion and the fight you had until your very last breath will continue on through me.”

Rain or Shine coach Yeng Guiao also remembered how he and Chino had something in common, making them build a good camaraderie in the sports community throughout the years.

“Chino and I have been very close. Magkasama kami noong nagstart ako ng (sports) broadcasting… We actually believe in the same things, same wavelength, same advocacies… We talked about a lot of things in sports, a lot of things in basketball. Although hindi kami magkatugma 100 percent, siguro 90 percent magkatugma yung mga ideas namin and opinions… It was really good to be conversing with him… Very expressive siya sa mga ideas niya, passionate siya, that’s one thing I like. Hindi siya takot magsabi ng nasa isip niya,” he said in an interview with Inquirer Sports.

Another sports journalist, Quinito Henson, also posted some memories he shared with his late roommate.
