Rachel Alejandro gets cast in a US film

<p>Filipina actress Rachel Alejandro happily shared to her followers that she got cast for a US-based film. She revealed she was barefaced in the audition tape she submitted to the directors to look more like the character they envisioned.</p><p>“Hi Rachel. Per our phone conversation, on behalf of the team at [undisclosed film company] we’d love to move forward and present you with the following official offer to play the below role in the film,” the casting director wrote.</p><p>“Submitted an audition video (wearing no makeup 😱) for a role as a Filipina mom of one of the main teenage characters in an upcoming feature film and was so happy to learn I got the part,” Rachel shared.</p><div><a href="https://push.abs-cbn.com/2023/12/21/rachel-alejandro-is-one-step-closer-to-becoming-a-us-citizen-1605"><strong>READ: Rachel Alejandro is one step closer to becoming a US citizen</strong></a></div><p>The seasoned actress shared that she was excited to begin her new career in the US and be part of the list of Asian Americans that will represent their heritage in the US media.</p><p>“Excited for the shoot tomorrow and happy that slowly but surely, though we definitely have a long way to go, more Asian stories are starting to be told in cinema,” she added.</p><p>Previously, Rachel shared with Bianca Gonzalez on TFC&#x27;s BRGY the challenges she had to face when she settled in the US during the pandemic. She recalled having to be a background actor for a US-based television series–– something she almost never experienced in the Philippines.</p><p>“As in sinubukan ko talaga how it is to be a background actor which means extra. Adjustment &#x27;yun kasi hindi naman ako sanay na I&#x27;d never done work like that in the Philippines. It was on a TV show called The Good Fight on CBS,&quot; she previously shared.</p>
