Billboard Philippines released its first Hot 100 chart on Wednesday, July 3.

"Philippines, this is Week 1 of the #BillboardPHHot100 and here are the top 10 hits dated July 6, 2024," the music magazine posted.

Landing in No. 1 on the chart is "Dilaw" by Maki.

Ranking number 2 is "Salamin, Salamin," by the nation's girl group BINI. Three more songs of BINI entered the top 10 of the chart including "Pantropiko" at number 4, "Karera" at number 7, and "Lagi" at number 9.

Other tracks which landed in the top 10 included "Please Please Please" by Sabrina Carpenter at number 3, "Birds Of A Feather" by Billie Eilish at number 5, "Espresso" by Sabrina Carpenter at number 6, "Million Dollar Baby" by Tommy Richman at No. 8, and "Palagi" by TJ Monterde at No. 10.

The Hot 100 chart as per Billboard Philippines "ranks the biggest songs in the country, based on streaming data (both audio and video) collected by data provider Luminate."

The chart includes songs by both Filipino and international artists.

"Dilaw" was released in May. 

Last June, the song topped the Spotify Philippines Top 50 songs chart. The track has already gained more than 42 million streams on the streaming platform as of this writing.

In a previous interview with ABS-CBN Entertainment, Maki shared the inspiration behind the "Dilaw."  

"I actually wrote this song for myself, para sa batang ako na laging naghahanap ng love sa ibang tao. Yung sobrang bigay siya nang bigay ng pagmamahal tapos hindi niya nakukuha pabalik. Now, I realize na after so many heartbroken moments in my life, di ko na mahal yung sarili ko. Dapat yung dilaw natin unang-una sa lahat ay yung sarili natin,” Maki relayed.

Maki drops latest single ‘Dilaw’

Maki wrote the track with Nameless Kids’ vocalist Nhiko Sabiniano. The latter also served as the producer of the track. Maki is an artist under Tarsier Records of ABS-CBN Music.

A music video for "Dilaw," which features BINI member Maloi as Maki's onscreen partner, was also released in May. The video has already gained more than 9 million views as of this writing on YouTube.
