PBB Gen 11 to kick off on July 20: ‘This will be a very, very special edition’

<p>Kapamilya reality show <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pbbgen112024"><em><strong>Pinoy Big Brother</strong></em></a> will be kicking off its 11th season this coming July 20.</p><p>During the media conference for the hit reality show, the hosts—Bianca Gonzalez, Robi Domingo, Melai Cantiveros, Enchong Dee, and Alexa Ilacad—expressed their gratitude for almost two decades of housemates sharing their stories and letting the show help them achieve their goals.</p><p>“Thank you to everyone for the support. Imagine niyo na tumagal ang PBB for 19 years and lahat-lahat po kami ay naging bahagi po nito. Sa lahat po ng patuloy na nagau-audition, patuloy na naniniwala sa <a href="https://ent.abs-cbn.com/pbbgen112024" id="isPasted" style="box-sizing:border-box;color:rgb(93, 155, 192);text-decoration:none;user-select:auto;letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255)"><em style="box-sizing:border-box"><strong style="box-sizing:border-box">Pinoy Big Brother</strong></em></a>. It’s challenging but at the same time exciting,” Robi said. “For this particular season of gen 11, if we are playing around the idea of ‘gen’, parang ayon yung challenge naman para sa akin personally kasi gusto ko malaman kung ano  nga ba kung ano yung generation ngayon… gusto ko sila intindihin.”</p><p>On Alexa’s part, the newest host shared how she could help give different views and insights from the perspective of the younger generation.</p><p>“Pakiramdam ko po ang ambag ko dito… ay a set of fresh eyes and maipapamalas ko rin po sa tao sa online yung perspective of Gen Z, yung values and opinions,” she said.</p><div><iframe src="https://www.facebook.com/plugins/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fphoto.php%3Ffbid%3D1002876511209441%26set%3Da.788980419265719%26type%3D3&amp;show_text=false&amp;width=500" width="500" height="250" style="border:none;overflow:hidden" scrolling="no" frameBorder="0" allowfullscreen=""></iframe></div><p>For Enchong, who once became a house guest, he shared what piece of advice he could give to the hopefuls.</p><p>“Naniniwala ako doon sa statement ng PBB which is magpakatotoo sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, but at the same time hindi kasi period yung statement na iyon, for me. It’s a comma for me that says ‘magpakatotoo ka, comma, pero kapag nalaman mo na mayroon ka palang pwedeng baguhin sa sarili mo sa loob ng Bahay ni Kuya, it&#x27;s an opportunity for you to better yourself.&#x27; Kailangan ka matuto sa pagkakamali mo kung paano ka makitungo sa ibang tao… Wag mo kalimutan magpaka-kapwa tao.” he expressed.</p><p>Meanwhile, Melai, who was once a big winner of the show, explained why she thinks people are still joining and loving the reality show even after almost 20 years.</p><p>“Parang ang <em>Pinoy Big Brother</em> kasi parang naging tradisyon na siya ng mga Pinoy and syaka siyempre nag iisa lang ang Bahay ni Kuya, hindi naman ito <em>Pinoy Big Brother</em> Village. So dahil nag-iisa lang siya, talagang lahat gusto makabisita, gusto malaman kung ano ang power o emotion na mararamdaman mo sa loob ka ng Bahay ni Kuya… forever na ang Big Brother,” she remarked.</p><p>Although there is still no hint as to what set of housemates Gen 11 will have, ABS-CBN&#x27;s Head of TV Production Lauren Dyogi had a meaningful message for the upcoming season.</p><p>“This house is very, very special kasi hindi naman forever ang bahay na ito. Actually, we have been threatened to be evicted from this house so namnamin natin ito. We don’t know where the next house will be,” he said.</p><p>“This will be a very, very special edition because this house will be very, very meaningful for this season.&quot;</p><p>Direk Lauren also answered the question if the latest edition of the show is the last after 19 years of its airing and producing talents and personalities.</p><p>“Hindi natin alam. Every season seems to be like (the last). We still have the franchise of PBB,” he clarified.</p><p>He continued, “PBB is not really about the house.
