Queen of Tears starred Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Ji-won. It premiered on March 9 and concluded on April 28.

The series follows the intense challenges and the surprising renewal of love between Hong Hae-in (Ji-won), a wealthy heiress from Queens Group, and Baek Hyun-woo (Soo-hyun), a farmer's son from Yongdu-ri, over three years of marriage.

"When I first read the script, I had so many questions. How did this couple's relationship end up like this? Why are they so angry? Why is this person so cold and selfish? What happened? As I kept reading on what started out as curiosity eventually turned into affection for the story," Ji-won said on what made her say yes to doing the series in a previous interview with Netflix.

Meanwhile, Soo-hyun shared that it was the various emotions portrayed by the characters in the story that made him love the series.

"The tears shed on the show are all varied and different. You'll be able to feel the emotions of all the characters not just Hyun-woo's and Hae-in's," he remarked.

On June 29, Soo-hyun staged a fan meeting in Manila following the success of the show titled Eyes On You.

Meanwhile, Ji-won headlined her fan meeting in Manila on August 3 called Be My One.

"To be honest I am very amused and surprised. Alam niyo ba 'yung pen pal wherein you meet people that you are writing to? Actually it's probably the first time  [for fans] to see me and it's actually the first time [that I get to] meet my fans as if meeting finally those who I have been sending my pen pal letters too so it's really surprising. I'm very thrilled and it's so [heartwarming]," the actress said via translator on meeting her fans across the region through her fan meeting.
