Seasoned actress-singer Geneva Cruz revealed that she is back in school as she is taking up a degree in business administration at the Philippine Christian University in Manila. She took to her Instagram account to express how excited and proud she is about her new journey.

Geneva recalled how she used to be a student of University of Sto. Tomas several decades ago and took up literature but was unable to finish the degree as she focused on being a parent to her son.

“It took me a long time to finally return to school and strive to complete college… But life had a different plan for me, and that’s to become a mother first. I have no regrets because I have a beautiful son,” she wrote.

The singer-actress admitted that it was because of her 10-year-old daughter that she decided to pursue higher education once again.

“Having a ten-year-old daughter was the motivation I needed to prioritize finishing a degree. I strongly believe in setting a positive example for my children, which drives me to dedicate time to pursuing my educational goals,” she added.

Despite her age, Geneva remained hopeful about her return to college as she is extra motivated to finish her education. She claimed that she will find time “to prioritize and pursue” something that is important for her.

“I live to grow because there's no age or judgment in personal growth as long as you keep pushing forward to finish what you start. Go after your goals—there's no such thing as being too late,” she continued.

She credited Ronnie Liang, who also pursued higher education in the same university, for their conversation which made an impact on her decision to study once again. The singer-actress dedicated her return to school to her family who are all college graduates.

Meanwhile, she reminded her followers that having a college degree doesn’t give you a great life as businesses will always take into consideration the person’s work ethic and attitude.

“Don’t even consider your degree a pass or a way to a great life. The point is not that a degree is meaningless but that it should have great value or uphold something of great importance to you. People hire or do business with you based on your skills, attitude, and work ethic rather than just your degree,” she ended.
