Miss World Philippines 2024 Krishnah Gravidez is embarking on another journey as a recording artist under music label Universal Records.

In an exclusive contract signing on Tuesday, September 10, the beauty queen shared how she felt stepping onto another career path.

“Before I came into Universal Records, I also had no self confidence in my singing but I wanna thank Universal Records for giving me this opportunity to enhance and improve my skills in singing,” she said.

Accompanying Krishnah during the signing was Universal Records Managing Director Kathleen Dy-Go, ALV Talent Circuit President and Miss World Philippines National Director Arnold Vegafria, and Andrei Alvarez of GLXY Entertainment.

Arnold Vegafria revealed that it was during this year’s competition that they saw Krishnah’s potential as a singer.

“We discovered si Krishnah because when the time of the talent competition (Miss World), she sang a song and I can say na she has a big potential as a singer. Ganoon siya nadiscover,” he shared.

The Baguio representative performed Sitti Navarro’s song “Para Sa Akin” during the talent competition.

Krishnah’s new journey with the record label also marked the first time that they will be having a beauty queen-turned-singer in their roster of talented artists.

“Sobrang ganda ng voice niya, and we are really excited to put out her new singles soon. Welcome to the family, Krishna,” Kathleen said.

Krishnah said she is very hopeful about improving her skills and finding her own "crown" in the industry.

“I was really so excited for this milestone. I grew up in a province so I’m very lucky to step up in this industry kasi hindi po lahat nabibigyan ng opportunity gaya nito so I’m so blessed that many people trusted me in this opportunity,” she expressed.

“My talent is still raw but I know and I trust Universal Records that they have strong foundation to develop and support artists that’s why I’m fully devoted to give my 100 percent effort in this industry,” she continued.

She also expressed her desire to try different genres and types of music, saying, “Wala po akong ka-idea with the genres and everything because hindi po talaga nadevelop ang skills ko with singing because sa banyo lang po ako nakanta at home but then they said na I fit in Bossa Nova na genre so I look forward to enhancing it more but also look forward as well to explore other genres, pop as well.”

Krishnah revealed that she first learned to play guitar through her dad when she was younger, then eventually learned to sing as the years passed by.

She also shared that her first big stage was during the competition, which she never expected to open more doors for her as an artist.

“The Miss World Philippines talent competition as the very first time that I sang in a large crowd, so that was the time I realized na. The handlers from the Miss World organization as well have messaged me na I have potential nga raw po in this industry,” she expressed.

She went on: “I reassessed myself, I asked myself, ‘Do I really want this?’ But at the end of the day life is too short to just stick po to a one industry so I am more like embracing this talent of mine. I’m very excited po what the future holds for me.”
