LOOK: Ria Atayde gives birth to first child with Zanjoe Marudo

Kapamilya couple Ria Atayde and Zanjoe Marudo welcomed their first child on Monday, September 23.

On his Instagram story, Zanjoe shared a video of him walking behind what seemed to be a hospital’s baby crib and a hospital bed.

“09.23.24 @ria,” Zanjoe simply captioned it with a smiley, praying hands and baby emojis.

Ria also reposted the video on her Instagram story. As of this writing, the couple are yet to share the name of their child.

In June this year, Ria and Zanjoe announced that they were expecting their first child after officially tying the knot in a civil wedding in March.

“To the dad you already are and the dad I know you’ll be. Love you @onlyzanjoemarudo, so excited for this new chapter with you 🤍 Happy first Father’s Day! ✨,” Ria penned as they marked Zanjoe’s first Father's Day celebration.

A month later, the couple’s family and friends organized a double celebration for Zanjoe’s birthday and their baby shower.

“Surprise bb shower @ria & happy birthday @onlyzanjoemarudo !!! love you guys so matssss,” a close friend wrote in a story which Zanjoe reposted.

The couple also revealed the gender of their baby during the intimate party.

“It’s a boy for our baby sister Sophia Atayde (Ria) 🍼 Patay kabirth month ni Ice ang magiging baby mo. Good luck! Hahaha. Lab yu sis!❤️,” Ice Seguerra’s wife, actress and producer Liza Diño-Seguerra

In a previous interview with Ria’s mom and seasoned actress Sylvia Sanchez, she expressed her excitement about meeting her grandchild with Ria and Zanjoe.

"Every day ko tinetext si Ria, 'Buntis, lalabas na ba ang little boss ko?’ Sabi Niya 'Ma, kalma lang kalma.’ Kasi anytime na eh," she shared.

She added, "Happy siya. Okay siya ngayon, ready na actually siya.”

The happy and new grandma also commended Zanjoe for being hands on during Ria’s pregnancy.

"Excited 'yung dalawa. Happy ako pag nakikita ko sila. Sobrang alaga siya ni Zanjoe. Nakikita ko 'yung pagmamahal ni Z sobra kay Ria, kaya happy na ako," the actress said.

Sylvia also shared that she would be gifting a pair of shoes she purchased three years ago in France to her first grandchild.

"Meron akong binili na sapatos sa Cannes, three years ago. Dalawa, kasi maganda siya. Kung sino 'yung una kong magiging apo, pagbili ko sabi ko ‘ay wala pa akong apo’. Pero nung nakita ko, ang ganda, wala sa Pilipinas. Pero sige bibilhin kita. Mapupunta ito sa una kong apo," she shared.
