After missing out on work late last month, Iza Calzado took to social media to share an update on her health condition after feeling under the weather for more than a week. The 42-year-old actress revealed that it was their entire household that got hit with the illness, with her getting more severe symptoms to the point of even losing her voice.

She wrote, “Pharyngitis. Bronchitis. Not cutesy. My cough and nasal congestion. Not very demure. Over a week now of being sick and even missing out on some work commitments. Pushed my body too hard again. Almost our entire household got sick but I was the one who got it bad. From losing my voice to developing bronchitis.”

In the same post, Iza shared that getting sick became a wake up call for her to be more introspective and to take care of herself more. She was also thankful that it did not happen during the middle of a busy work schedule.

“This is definitely a wake up call to be even more mindful. Mindful of my overall health and well being.

"Mindful of my boundaries. Mindful of where my energy goes. The silver lining here is that it all happened before work and life schedule becomes even more hectic. God is already reminding me that I need to make better choices in the weeks and months to come. Well noted, God. Well noted po,” she wrote.

After giving birth to her first daughter Deia last year, Iza has been vocal about going through the most fulfilling journey of her life. And as a first time parent, she is now also making sure to take extra care of herself and thank those who have been helping nurse her back to good health.

“Grateful for those who have been helping me through this journey. I did everything from doing a panel test, taking my medications, nebulising, to doing IV drips, acupuncture, ozone treatment and energy healing. Doctors, healers and nurses all making sure I bounce back to feeling strong and healthy again for work, which starts tomorrow, and all that I have lined up in the next few months. Salamat sa inyo.

"Moving forward with a plan to make sure I can be at my optimal health for the many hats I wear in life, especially the one I wear with most pride and joy — being Deia’s mom. ❤️ May we all be happy, healthy, mindful and very demure. Have a blessed Sunday! ✨P.S. Thanks for all the healing love and energy! I am on the mend and your messages are making me feel even better. Much love to all of you! ❤️”

While recovering at home, Iza shared another post on her feelings after having been part of the cast of the Netflix-produced Filipino film Lolo and the Kid.

She wrote, “I’m so grateful to be a part of Lolo and The Kid. When I first read the script, I knew I wanted to be a part of it because it made me cry. True enough, people have been approaching me to tell me that they’ve watched the film because it touched their hearts and made them cry too. It’s a huge blessing to be a part of something so impactful. If you have the time today, since some classes are cancelled and a lot of us are home, I would love to recommend you watch Lolo and The Kid. 🤍 I hope it touches your heart the way it’s touched mine. Thank you, everyone. Please stay safe and stay dry. 🤗”

Last July, Iza and her husband Ben Wintle flew to the UK with their daughter Deia to take her on her first trip to visit family members in England.
