Heart Evangelista Wasn’t Shy to Talk About Her Period at the Flex Your Mood Event

As the pioneering brand in the feminine care category for more than 100 years now, Kotex continues to take the lead in launching new campaigns that spark conversations to help alleviate period stigma. Committed to their goal of breaking taboos, Kotex empowered women to indulge in the full range of emotions they experience during the “Flex Your Mood” event held last October 21 at Electric Garden in BGC. A bold message in contrast to the typical women empowerment campaigns, Kotex strived to normalise unconventional truths of being in your period. In order to echo their message, 80 beautiful women who represented various media outlets and KOLs (key opinion leaders), showed up dressed in their classiest outfits and eager to experience what the country’s first Kotex Mood House had to offer.

The event featured various ‘mood stations’ that allowed the attendees to freely express their different moods and emotions—from channelling their creative juices at the Charm Bar, raging it out at the Chaos Corner, satisfying their period cravings at the Munch Haven, to capping it off with a photo of their most confident self at the Empowerment Wall area. “Every period experience is unique and there’s no one -size -fits- all approach. This effort is really to foster an open dialogue and empower our girls to change conversations about periods and the emotions that come with it,” shares Kotex Marketing Manager Krystel Chua.

Celebrity brand ambassador and long-time Kotex user Heart Evangelista, helped spark a bigger spotlight on the conversation by candidly sharing her own period struggles like experiencing breakouts on her chest and back, getting migraines, and long-haul traveling while on her period. “I feel like I have a really good relationship with Kotex because they know the essence of my being and as I’ve evolved, they’ve also evolved flawlessly through the years. And no joke, I’m really like a number one Kotex girl,” Hearts admits.
