An adaptation of the wildly popular Korean series of the same title, Lovers in Paris is a light romantic tale of striving for one’s dreams and finding true love in unexpected moments. It chronicles the journey of Vivian (KC Concepcion) who goes to the City of Lights to pursue filmmaking studies as part of her father’s last wishes. To make ends meet and send money for her family in the Philippines, she juggles different part-time jobs including a housekeeping post in a hotel. But, in a series of misfortune, Vivian is kicked out of her job and apartment on the same day.In dire need of a new source of income, Vivian works as a maid for Carlo (Piolo Pascual) who later on asks her to pretend as his fiancée for a corporate event. Just as when the universe starts pulling them closer to each other, things get complicated when Carlo’s nephew, Martin (Zanjoe Marudo), falls for Vivian. To add more drama to the story, Carlo’s ex-wife suddenly makes a comeback and tries to win him again.The teleserye moves along to Manila as Vivian decides to come home. But even in the Philippines, she still crosses paths with Carlo at the wrong time, prompting them to bid each other goodbye. Carlo gets engaged with Eunice (Assunta de Rossi), stirring Vivian’s jealousy and adding another layer of conflict. As Vivian and Eunice’s rivalry thickens, Martin’s affection for Vivian also intensifies. But, even while they continue to embark on a difficult journey, Vivian and Carlo still find their way back to each other.The Pinoy version of Lovers in Paris garnered impressive following in 2009, four years after the original Koreanovela was dubbed and aired in the Philippines. Apart from the exciting plot peppered with little twists to satisfy the Pinoy audience’s taste, the series also boasted a stellar cast. It was KC Concepcion’s first drama series and first team-up with the Ultimate Hunk Piolo Pascual. Joining them in the show was Zanjoe Marudo, Maricar Reyes, Assunta de Rossi, and veteran actors Christopher de Leon and Mark Gil.
