Janine Gutierrez, brother Diego recount fondest childhood memory in latest vlog

Coming from one of the biggest and most affluent clans in the local entertainment scene, it’s seemingly impossible for Janine Gutierrez to keep her personal life away from the spotlight, which includes her relationship with her beloved family.

And in her latest vlog entitled “TRUTH OR SING,” she gave her us a glimpse of her lovely bond with her younger brother Diego and endeared us with how a supportive ate she is!

In this fun and exciting game, she asked him random questions that she garnered from her Instagram followers. For every question that he wasn’t keen on answering, he had to give a sample of a song of a certain artist or category that he would pick from another jar. And just in case you’re wondering why she came up with this kind of game, it’s definitely because their one and only brother is the resident singer of the family and she wanted him to further show it, aside from his stints in ASAP Natin ‘To almost every Sunday.

For the opening salvo, he immediately picked the question regarding Janine’s rumored romantic affair at present and if he’s in favor of whoever the guy is. While both of them refused to confirm if she ever has one nor more so name him, Diego simply uttered, “as long as your significant other makes you happy, then that makes me happy also.”

There was also never an instance when his beloved ate had disappointed him, except that time when she went to New York City without him, yet with their sisters.

With regards to his ultimate celebrity crush, the 26-year-old heartthrob disclosed that it has always been Solenn Heusaff ever since he was just a little boy. He also happily revealed that he has a girlfriend named Bea, to whom he’s been with for six years already. If there’s a piece of advice that he would like to give couples in order for their relationship to last as well, it would be to have communication, respect for each other, and be supportive of one another.

Furthermore, Diego ‘fessed up about the biggest struggle he had ever encountered in his life by telling her Ate Janine, “I guess, career-wise it’s been a little bit of a struggle. I feel like I should be doing more now. I expected myself to have accomplished more than what I have accomplished. But, as you always tell us, we’re not old. You always give the same advice naman, so you suggest to start the new year strong. 2023, let’s go!”

The award-winning actress echoed it by also commending her brother for being able to publish his songs on a streaming platform and to perform on ASAP Natin ‘To – which are both remarkable feats.

We’re finally able to hear him sing when he failed to answer who among his sisters he is likely to save in a sinking ship. He picked “Justin Bieber” and performed a bit of “One Less Lonely Girl.” He did the same when Janine’s Marry Me Marry You co-star Jake Ejercito made him choose between “Number 8 or Number 24 Kobe Bryant,” who’s apparently his favorite NBA player. This time, he sang the OST of Janine’s latest flick “Ngayon Kaya,” which is Mayonnaise’s “Jopay”.

When asked if there’s a moment when he disliked a person that Janine has dated, Diego recounted how disappointed he was to the guy they invited to their Papa Monching’s birthday dinner who didn’t show up without giving her any explanation. Since he didn’t name whoever he was, he gave in to Janine’s request for him to sing, which turned out to be any song of his. He first sang “Sino Na Tayo” and “On A Dream”, which revealed that Janine barely knows his songs, much to his displeasure (in jest!).

They also imparted a bit of their fondest childhood memories together, and talked about how it is like to be part of a broken family. Diego thanked their parents, Ramon Christopher and Lotlot de Leon, for making their separation bearable and shared that they have to house hop during holidays in order to celebrate with both of them.

One of Janine’s followers made him choose between his friends and fellow ASAP Natin ‘To young singers Anji Salvacion and Sam Cruz, which compelled him to do another song number. For his last performance, he covered “Stitches” by their mutual favorite Shawn Mendes.

To cap off their fun tanungan, kuwentuhan, and bukingan, Diego requested for them to have a duet, to which Janine hesitantly heeded to. As she picked Lea Salonga, Janine chose “A Whole New World,” which she actually nailed, yet was bashful to sing.
