New Pinoy singers are emerging here and there — each with a fresh sound to call their own. From our pool of Kapamilya stars, there are a handful of young artists who have emerged as outstanding next generation singers in the local music scene.

Pinoy Big Brother Lucky Season 7 Big Winner Maymay Entrata continues to shine years after her stint at the big yellow house. She has shown her talent in acting, dancing, and now even singing. Just last year, Maymay had her first digital concert where she rocked her MPowered viral hit, “Amakabogera.”

Many of us knew the handsome singer Kyle Echarri was destined to conquer the music world. After the world discovered his talent on The Voice Kids, he grew into a well-rounded artist. While pursuing acting, he worked hard on his music producing some promising hits on his album “New View” like “Dyosa,” “Fuego,” and “I’m Serious.”

It’s undeniable that Darren Espanto is one of the remarkable singers of this generation. Since competing on The Voice Kids, he has only gone up and with no plans of stopping. Dubbed as a total performer and Asia’s Pop Heartthrob, Darren even takes on international projects doing the cover of “A Whole New World” with Morissette Amon for the live-action movie of Aladdin under Walt Disney Company.

Tawag Ng Tanghalan Season 2 winner Janine Berdin’s unique voice gained her the title of “New Gem of OPM.” Since her championship, she produced stunning music including the soundtrack of Kadenang Ginto, “Nasa Puso,” and her latest single “Pagod Na Ako.” She’s also a regular on ASAP Natin ‘To as a New Gen Birit Diva.

Also New Gen Birit Divas who have become notable singers are Zephanie Dimaranan and Sheena Belarmino. Zephanie began her showbiz career after winning Idol Philippines. Her acts proved her deserving to be called “this generation’s Pop Princess.”

Sheena Belarmino kicked off her career as a performer on Dance Kids in 2015, but she was made for more because she has the voice to match her drive. In 2017, she joined Tawag Ng Tanghalan Kids and that allowed her to catch the attention of the public. Since then she’s been gaining projects such as regularly singing on ASAP and getting a major role on musical series “Lyric And Beat.”

Jayda, daughter of Jessa Zaragoza and Dingdong Avanzado, is making a name for herself in the music industry. Aside from showcasing her melodious voice, she’s also setting herself as a skilled young producer and director. She spearheaded creating the music video of her song “Paano Kung Naging Tayo?” which won Best Music Video at the 2021 International Film Festival in Manhattan.

JM Yosures’ tenacity is unmatched. Despite the rejections he received after auditioning for The Voice and Idol Philippines, his passion for music never faded. Continuously crafting his talent, he eventually reached his dreams and landed as the grand winner of Tawag Ng Tanghalan Season 4. Since then, he’s been achieving new heights performing on ASAP and becoming the new voice of the Maalaala Mo Kaya theme song.

Another impressive singer, Reiven Umali, gained fame from his win in Tawag Ng Tanghalan. Even if he has only begun his musical journey for a few months, he is on par with his talented peers. He is regularly invited to perform on ASAP and has already released his first single entitled, “Babalik Ka Pa Kaya.”

Sam Cruz is more than ready to join in the spotlight like her celebrity parents Sunshine Cruz and Cesar Montano, but with a focus on music. Now she is recognized as one of ASAP’s new breed of artists. Using her magnificent voice, she released her debut single, “Train of Thought” last year.

Dashing singer Diego Gutierrez is also following his family into showbiz. While his sister Janine Gutierrez and parents Lotlot de Leon and Monching Gutierrez are in the acting scene, Diego is pursuing his love for music. Like Sam, he is another artist a part of ASAP’s New Breed of Singers and is constantly producing great singles like “On A Dream,” and “I Don’t Think You Can.”

Anji Salvacion’s musical talent has brought her different opportunities. People loved her from Idol Philippines and while she didn’t reach the finals, her charm and skills opened the doors for her career. She’s regularly singing on ASAP Natin ‘To and is one of the clique Squad Plus members. Just recently, she also joined reality show Pinoy Big Brother Kumunity Season 10 as a celebrity housemate. Her monicker “Ang Singing Sweetheart ng Siargao” perfectly puts her bright personality and beautiful voice, which fans adore and allowed her to end up as one of the Top 2 housemates for the celebrity batch.
