The recent episodes of "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" have left viewers with a whirlwind of emotions, especially as major characters were killed off in a shocking turn of events. The trending Caballero massacre, where the entire family was wiped out by their rival clan, the Montenegros, took everyone by surprise.

Fans had hoped that at least a few Caballero family members might survive, particularly Don Facundo, portrayed masterfully by veteran actor Jaime Fabregas. His character slowly gained sympathy from the audience, thanks to his kindness toward Tindeng (Charo Santos). Many viewers were even rooting for the FacunDeng ship, but sadly, that budding romance was cut short!

Jaime truly appreciates all the positive comments about his portrayal and the viewers who invested in his character’s journey. In a brief interview with Coco Martin’s CCM Film Productions, Jaime expressed his satisfaction with how his character was sketched in the narrative. He revealed that there was quite a bit of brainstorming involved, and he contributed some of his own ideas to help shape Don Facundo’s arc.

Jaime wanted Don Facundo to be more than just a black-and-white character, but rather, painted with more complexity and nuance. He didn’t want Facundo to be remembered as merely another evil, power-hungry mafia leader, but as someone with "human qualities" and a touch of vulnerability. This depth was particularly evident in his dynamic with Tindeng, the house helper he grew close to, making Facundo more relatable.

Speaking of his scenes with Tindeng, those were among Jaime’s favorites! He also enjoyed his on-screen arguments with Tessie Tomas, who played his wife Bettina, and the intense confrontations with Tommy Abuel’s Don Julio.

"Siguro, masasabi ko, na-contribute ko kung anuman itong talent ko for acting. At sana na-a-appreciate ng iba," he said, flashing a charming smile—one we never saw from Don Facundo but that comes so naturally from the real Jaime.

Although his stint on "FPJ's Batang Quiapo" was much shorter compared to his time on "FPJ's Ang Probinsyano," which he also did with Coco, Jaime thoroughly enjoyed his days on set. He loved acting in front of the cameras, collaborating with the entire team, and soaking up the fun, creative atmosphere. He also noted that Coco hasn’t changed one bit; hard work is truly in the Primetime King’s blood.

"Si Coco, very hard working.” He joked, "Baka ‘pag humintong magtrabaho 'yan, baka magkasakit 'yan." On a more serious note, the showbiz luminary expressed his hope to work with Coco on more projects together in the future. But, for now, he sincerely wishes for even greater success for "FPJ's Batang Quiapo."

"Maraming salamat po sa suporta ninyo sa akin, personally, at sa show," he expressed.

"At sana'y patuloy ninyong tangkilikin ang 'Batang Quiapo' habang nand'yan 'yan." With his effortless sense of humor, he added in jest, "Ang dinig ko po ay baka tumagal ng sampung taon. So, darating ang panahon na magiging 'Matandang Quiapo' na ang tawag sa kan'ya."

Don't miss an episode of "FPJ's Batang Quiapo," weeknights on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, TV5, and A2Z.
