Potato Corner's first Hong Kong store is an early hit

<p>MANILA - Filipino food cart giant Potato Corner opened its first franchise in Hong Kong last week, attracting homesick Filipino workers and locals who have developed a taste for flavored fries.</p><p>Lines of up to 60 people form in front of the store in the busy Tsim Sha Tsui district daily and the sour cream and onion flavor is the top seller, store operator Mr. Kam told ABS-CBN News by phone.</p><p>&quot;We knew it was going to be a hit, but the lines were quite a surprise,&quot; said Kam. &quot;During the first few days, it was mostly Filipinos, but later there were locals too.&quot;</p><p>&quot;Our fries are different because they are always made to order,&quot; he said.</p><script src="https://connect.facebook.net/en_US/sdk.js#xfbml=1&amp;version=v2.5" async="" type="text/javascript"></script><div class="fb-post" data-href="https://www.facebook.com/umagazinehk/videos/10156148375574616/" data-width="auto"> </div><p>Kam said the store has been featured in various food blogs and publications in the Chinese territory</p><p>Potato Corner plans to expand to up to 1,000 branches in the Philippines and abroad, according to its Facebook page.
