MANILA - The government and its private sector partner on Thursday broke ground on the Light Rail Transit Line 1 extension, which will connect the capital to the Cavite suburbs.

The 11 kilometer project will have 11 stations and will extend the LRT-1 from Redemptorist in Pasay to Niog in Bacoor, Cavite, the DOTr said.
