MANILA — The House of Representatives approved on third and final reading on Wednesday a measure seeking to grant Meralco a fresh 25-year franchise.During the plenary session, 186 voted in favor of House Bill 10926, seven voted against it, and four abstained.The measure, if passed into law, would renew <span id="isPasted" style="color:rgb(65, 65, 65);letter-spacing:normal;orphans:2;text-align:left;text-indent:0px;text-transform:none;widows:2;word-spacing:0px;-webkit-text-stroke-width:0px;white-space:normal;background-color:rgb(255, 255, 255);text-decoration-thickness:initial;text-decoration-style:initial;text-decoration-color:initial;display:inline !important;float:none">Meralco’s franchise to construct, operate, and maintain electric distribution systems for another 25 years.Santa Rosa City Rep.
