MANILA -- There will be no number coding over the long weekend, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The MMDA said Tuesday that the number coding scheme would be suspended on Friday, August 23--the commemoration of the Ninoy Aquino Day, which was declared as a special non-working day.
It will also be suspended on August 26, Monday for National Heroes' Day, a regular holiday.
Number coding is not implemented on Saturdays and Sundays.

The commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day was originally on August 21, a Wednesday, but was moved to a Friday “to provide for a longer weekend, thereby promoting domestic tourism,” Malacanang said.
