They got candid about being “poor,” specifically the time when Jones could not even afford buying drinking water for her kids.</p><p>Labrusca, for the first time, also admitted to his mother that he would steal food from a convenience store when he was young — prompting a regretful reaction from the “sad” Jones.</p><p>Labrusca, 23, opened up about his feelings toward the separation of his parents. Neither him nor Jones mentioned a specific name.</p><p>Ton’y biological father is actor Boom Labrusca, whom he referred to as a “stranger” when they reconnected in a televised moment in 2016. At the time, he said he was already discerning enough to see that his parents separating would be the best for everyone’s happiness.</p><p>Jones, meanwhile, told her son that she regrets the kind of parenting she had subjected him to when he was younger, saying that she had picked up the “hurtful” disciplining from own mother.</p><p>Turning emotional, Jones continued: “I want to take this time to apologize. I know that I missed out on a lot because of my misery. It wasn’t your fault. I wish I would have left sooner, so that I could have been happier sooner, so that I could be this mother that I’ve always wanted to be for you guys.</p><p>“It still bothers me, because I feel that I wasted time trying to be perfect, when I was miserable, and I was a bad mom. I was angry, I wasn’t affectionate. I was just this shell trying to function.”</p><p>The two ended on a positive note as they exchanged words of gratitude over the strong and open relationship they have now, and having family as both their “core.”</p>
