MANILA – Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil are set to reunite on TV soon, and the actress could not wait for their fans to see what they have been working on these past few weeks.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News during her surprise birthday party on Sunday, Soberano said shooting “Dolce Amore” in Italy was a whole new experience for her which she really enjoyed.

“I think it will be airing in February. It was super fun because I get to learn another language. When I went to Italy, my scenes nalaman ko purong Italian siya talaga. I had this one scene with tita Cherie Gil. It was kind of a confrontation scene. I had to speak pure Italian only. I couldn’t speak in Tagalog or English. It was really hard. It’s also fun and satisfying,” she said.

Soberano also recalled how she met some of her Filipino fans in Italy when she stayed in Bologna.

“We were going around, we wanted to find shops but we couldn’t see them. I said hanap kami ng Pinoy, baka matulungan kami. When we were looking around, there was none. But when they found out that I was there, lahat sila pumupunta sa hotel,” she said.

Soberano said she appreciated all their efforts especially since some of them traveled from different parts of Italy to Bologna just to see her.

“There were more than 50 people I think outside of the hotel room. Nagulat ako,” she said. “I was happy to see them kasi minsan lang naman sila makakita ng artista. At least nakasama ko sila kahit saglit lang.”

In “Dolce Amore,” Soberano plays Serena, an Italian princess who wants nothing but live a simple life. Enrique Gil, on the other hand, plays Tenten, an ordinary boy from Manila who works hard to provide for his family.

It will be helmed by Cathy Garcia Molina, the same director who did “Forevermore,” Gil and Soberano’s first series together.
