Instagram: <em>@dollydeleon</em></figcaption></figure></div><p>MANILA — Filipino actress Dolly De Leon was nominated Thursday (Manila time) in the Supporting Actress category of the 76th British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA), for her portrayal of a toilet manager in the Palme d&#x27;Or-winning &quot;Triangle of Sadness.&quot;</p><p>She is in the running for the award alongside Angela Bassett (&quot;Black Panther: Wakanda Forever&quot;), Hong Chau (&quot;The Whale&quot;), Kerry Condon (&quot;The Banshees of Inisherin&quot;), Jamie Lee Curtis (&quot;Everything Everywhere All At Once&quot;), and Carey Mulligan (&quot;She Said&quot;).</p><p>&quot;Triangle of Sadness,&quot; written and directed by Swedish filmmaker Ruben Östlund, is also up for Best Original Screenplay and Best Casting for Pauline Hansson.</p><p>The 2023 BAFTA ceremony will be held on February 20. </p><p>De Leon&#x27;s BAFTA nod follows her recent nomination in the United States&#x27; Golden Globe Awards as best supporting actress. The film starred Filipino actors John Arcilla and Jake Macapagal.</p><p>In “Triangle of Sadness,” de Leon played Abigail, a toilet cleaner at a luxury yacht who, thanks to her skills, becomes the leader figure among the mega-privileged passengers when they get stranded on an island.</p><p>For widely praised performance, de Leon won Best Supporting Actress at the 2022 North Dakota Film Society Awards, and Best Supporting Performer at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association. </p><p>Since the Cannes premiere of &quot;Triangle of Sadness,&quot; de Leon has been earning non-stop raves from film pundits, and has been a staple in predictions for an Oscar nomination.</p><p>Countless doors have also opened for de Leon, a stage veteran who had mostly been known for her supporting roles on the small and big screens.
