PSY: Family problems spark Lia's rebellion

MANILA -- "Go, Lia! Huwag kang Duwag!"

This is the unified scream of Lia's (Andrea Brillantes) friends as they force her to drink a cup of beer during a party on the Thursday episode of "Pangako Sa 'Yo."

Although she wants to refuse, the peer pressure is so intense that she finds it hard to say no. Besides, who can blame her? She is only 13. And just like every teenager, she also wants to belong.

But peer pressure is not the only problem here.

Lia carries the stigma of being a part of an embattled family. Her father Eduardo (Ian Veneracion) is in a relationship with Amor (Jodi Sta. Maria), while her mother Claudia (Angelica Panganiban) has had past with a man, who she met when she still had amnesia.

Her brother Angelo (Daniel Padilla), on the other hand, is busy helping his girlfriend Yna (Kathryn Bernardo) in finding justice for her best friend David (Diego Loyzaga).

With all these in mind, Lia feels worthless. She thinks that no one cares for her anymore: no one asks how she feels, what she wants, how her friends treat her, and so on. No one knows that all she needs is attention and genuine love.

To feel some sense of belongingness, Lia joins a group of popular kids at school. But she does not know that these kids, whom she trusts, loves and idolizes, are the ones who will bring her to a nightmare she will never forget.
